OpenText Output Manager (formerly Vista Plus Output Manager (VPOM) provides a management and control infrastructure to ensure delivery of output to printers, report archives, or other output devices. The enterprise output management solution provides capture, scheduling, processing, tracking, and routing of output to a variety of output destinations. Regardless of the source or destination, Output Manager manages and distributes information efficiently and reliably to ensure business success.

OpenText VPOM accepts print streams from a variety of sources (such as OpenText Exstream and OpenText Document Presentment for SAP), applies optional pre-processing, and delivers the output to the appropriate destination devices (e.g., printers). Output Manager provides centralized views of jobs and output devices.
Output Manager monitors and reports the job’s status throughout its lifecycle. Using the job lifecycle concept, the input, process, and output stages can be described by the following workflow activities: job submission, job capture, job scheduling and notification, job processing, and printing.
In general, if the setup is correct, the Output Manager is a “back office” application. Once it is installed and configured, there is no need to continue to interact with the system, other than to monitor and troubleshoot failed jobs.
