The Challenge

As a leading oil producer, the Oklahoma-based company, which closely collaborates with thousands of employees, subcontractors, agents, legal representatives, and investors, needs to handle millions of documents efficiently, transparently, and in compliance with State Law and regulatory procedures.

Each time Continental Resources onboards a new investor, a document package must be created, delivered to the investor, completed, returned to Continental, processed internally, and submitted to the relevant government institutions. Each investor is being informed about where Continental is in the process. This is usually done by sending investors a legal notice that contains specific information regarding their surface and/or mineral interests. Each month, the investors get a personalized report. All business communications are conducted via mail and email.

Manually dealing with this large volume of communications is not only complicated and time-consuming but also error-prone. Therefore, after a long evaluation process, the company decided to implement OpenText ECM and CCM solutions and turned to Ecodocx for help. Since then, both companies have successfully collaborated on a project-by-project basis (installation, upgrades, professional services, training) in both on-site and remote models.

When Continental Resources realized that their OpenText solutions were coming to the end of the product support lifecycle, they decided to upgrade:

 

  • SAP Document Presentment by OpenText  (StreamServe/Exstream) 
  • SAP Extended ECM by OpenText 

 

Besides upgrading the existing projects, Continental Resources also wanted to create a few new ones, which included professional services and custom development.
